Take Time To Be Alone With God

I truly believe what the church needs is to take time to be alone with God. It takes a while for us to clear our minds of the daily routines of life before we can ever be able to hear God speak. Church people pray but it is usually in a hurry and usually there are only quick requests made and then it's on to the next event in our busy schedule. God wants us to take some time to listen to what He has to say. Do you take your bible to your prayer time so if you have a hard time hearing His voice you can open God's word and let Him speak to you that way until you develope your ability to hear God speaking to your inner self? Your heart as we call it. I believe God is always speaking to us but most of the time it's in a still small voice. ( 1st Kings 19:12 )
In this passage of scripture Elijah had been so busy doing things for God he could no longer easily hear God's voice as he should. God had to use a strong wind, earthquake, and then fire to get Elijah's attention. Sometimes we get to feeling so sorry for ourselves that we can't hear God's voice.
So we must take time to get alone with God if we ever want to really hear Him speak to the point of giving us sure direction in the ways we need to go whatever situation we may be facing. God says that from wherever we are " If we will seek the Lord your God, you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with  all your soul." (Deuteronomy 4:29) This is the promise of God. God does not and can not lie. So you and I must believe that if we with all our being seek God through bible reading, prayer and then meditation we are certain to find Him and His will for our lives. Once you begin to spend time alone with God you will never want to stop. It will change your life for the better forever. What keeps you from sending time alone with God? Don't make excuses! We all find the time to do what we truly want to do. It is a matter of priority. My prayer for you would be God help you find the time and the will to be alone with Him however long that may be each day. If you will do this you will find more and more time to seek Him because you will see the need for it and it will make your life go so much better. You will begin to experience the very presence of God in your life and you will find that you are constantly communing with God through out the day.
For those reading this who may not even know God, you can begin to know Hm today, right now. If you will admit you have sinned-(done wrong)- before a Holy God and you have not lived up to His standard for mankind-(10 commandments) and then ask Jesus Christ His Son to forgive you and then invite Jesus into your life to take charge of you and your ways you will be saved. Then go to a bible teaching church and tell the pastor there that you want to be baptized and then join that church and begin to worship God there. You will then find a great desire to find out more about God and His ways for your life. You will then begin to live the victorious and abundant life style. You will ask yourself, why did I wait so long to come to God?

Quiet Time

Isaiah 30:15 (NLT)
15 This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says: “Only in returning to me and resting in me will you be saved. In quietness and confidence is your strength.

We need to make sure this year that we take time to return to the Lord and rest in Him so that we can be saved from the confusion of the world around us that is constantly pulling at us every day. It is imperative that we do this if we want to go trough life in a victorious way no matter what we have to face. In quietness with God we find the strenght and encouragement we need to go on. We also find a closness with God so that we can hear His voice of guidance and assurance. In Exodus chapter 2 and3 God saw to it that Moses had 40 years in the desert to focus on his ways as a murderer and to get his life in order before He called Moses to lead the nation fo Israel. There has to be that quiet time with God to find the right direction for our lives.
In Galatians 1:15-18 the bible tells us that the apostle Paul spent three years in the Arabian desert before he was qualified to preach the gospel. He had to have time to focus on what it was that he was to preach and where he was to go to do that preaching. He needed time to build his relationship with God and find out more about Him and His message before he was to minister the word of God to others.
Then we are told in Luke 4:1-13 that the Holy Spirit led Jesus Himself into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil before He began His ministry. He also had to spend time alone with the Father so He would have the perfect direction and guidance from the Father God as to the correct path He was to take in His ministry. Remember Jesus laid aside His Diety to live as a man under the guidance and direction of the Holy Spirit just like you and I do. So if Jesus had to have time alone with God the Father then surely you and I must also have time alone with our Father God for the same reasons mentioned here. If we are wise this year we will make every attempt to seek that quiet time alone with the Father for His direction in our lives so that we live the abundant life that He promised in John 10:10b.
Spending time alone with God will please Him very much and as we please Him, He will pour out His blessings on us and our families. He will direct our path and what else could we ask?
If you don't know for sure that you even know God let alone follow Him and spend time with Him I would advise you to stop right now, tell Jesus you are sorry for your sins and ask Jesus to forgive your sins against a holy God. Then invite Him into your life to take charge of your life and destiny in this world and in the world to come. Jesus said He would not turn away anyone who comes to Him in faith. Let Him save you. And Christian ask Jesus to forgive you for not spending time alone with Him and seeking Him with all your heart. If we don't seek Him and His kingdom right now in our lives when we will we ever do it? You know the answer to that. So what are you waiting for? Begin to read His word daily and pray for His guidance and direction for your life. You will be so glad you did. If you don't it will be the biggest regret of your life and you will miss out on so much that God has planned for you.

What Really Matters

"Be constantly renewed in the spirit of your mind-having a fresh mental and spiritual attitude." Amplified Bible
Have you ever heard "there is more to life than things?" We all agree with this statement but yet most people are very much concerned with the things of this life rather than being concerned about spiritual matters.
The truly important things of life such as family, friends, health, contentment, laughter, helping others, peace and communion with the Lord can't be bought with a price. They are the free things in life.
One of the ways to get at the free things of life is to follow the advice of Sidney Lovett: "Give the best you have received from the past to the best that you may come to know in the future."
I don't know about you but the best I have received from the past was the night I received the Lord Jesus Christ as my personal Savior and Lord. So the purpose of this website is to give the best I have received from the past and give it to those who will take the time to read these pages and think about what is being said and act on it.
Every now and then take time to reflect on what you see in nature. Mountains, birds, flowers, trees, a star, a stream or some animal then it will help you to focus on the things that really matter. You will be reminded every time you see these things of nature that God made those things which we enjoy in this world.
Meditate on these "intangibles" around you and realize you are not alone as you spend your time with the very God that created those things. Take time to "smell the roses." Sit and look out a window or stand or sit in a garden and then undertake the important business of realizing what really matters in this short life of ours.
The bible says to meditate on those things which really matter in this life.
Philippians 4:8-9 (NKJV) 8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy--meditate on these things.
9 The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.
To close I would like to remind you that nothing matters more than where you will spend eternity. Are you prepared for the hereafter? If not, it really matters that you take the time right now where you sit to ask Jesus Christ to forgive you and to save you from an eternity in hell and give you a home in heaven. If you mean business He will not turn you away. Then go to a church and be baptized. Read God's word each day to keep your focus on what really matters. Do what it says and you will find the things that really matter in life that will bring you joy beyond description. Remember these things are what really matters!
