Good, Better, Best

God has given us a choice of having the best as we live our lives but He also allows us to choose evil, good, better, or best for our lives. The bible says in Deuteronomy 30:19 (NLT) 19 “Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live! God will not force His best on you. He allows you and I to make our own choices as to whether we follow His word and instructions or not. We alone are responsible for the choices we make and then we bear the consequences of our choices.
God has made known what He wants us to choose. So many people say they don't know what God's will is for them. It's very plain here what God wills for us. Lets look at it! Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live!
Now this is very plain isn't it? We choose life when we follow God's instruction book (called the bible). If you are not reading God's word daily you will never have the best for your life because you won't even know what God's best is for you.
Do you depend on others advise to guide you or to inspire you? If you do, that advise will surely fail you. Only God knows what is best for your life. After all He created you and He had a plan for your life when you were still in your mother's womb. So how could someone who doesn't know even a fraction of what God does give you advise for living that would never fail? That kind of thinking leads to destruction.
Do you remember when you had a real excitement for the word of God and His church? What happened along the way? The answer is that you have made some wrong choices instead of seeking God for the best that He wants you to have. But the good news is this message is for those who recognize their mistakes and wrong choices and want to do something about it.
God is ready always to forgive us when we turn to Him and ask for that forgiveness. May I ask you if you have ever even asked Jesus to forgive your sins against God and have you invited Him into your life as your personal Savior and Lord? If not, that's the first step to choosing the best for your life now and for an eternity.
You can ask Him right now to forgive and save you for His kingdom. Go to church and be baptized. Begin to worship God there and begin to draw near to Him and watch your life change.
As the scripture told us, God wants us to make the right choice but the ultimate decision is up to you. God says in His word in James 4:8 (NLT) 8 Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world. The New King James translation says it this way. James 4:8  Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Which is the easiest for you to understand?
No matter what translation you use we can understand the first step to the best from God is that we draw as close to Him as we possibly can. Then to get rid of the sin in our lives and quit being swayed this way and then that way. Indecision will ultimately destroy you. You must be rooted and grounded in your desire to do God's will for your life. It doesn't matter what someone else might say about it because God has already spoken and given us a choice to either choose His word about it or to reject. That is the way God always works. He never changes. The choice is always ours to make. If we are wise people we will make the choice to do what God says. Isaiah 55:6-8 (NKJV) 6 Seek the Lord while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near.
7 Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the Lord, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.
8 "For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways," says the Lord.

Isaiah 55:6-9 (NLT) 6 Seek the Lord while you can find him. Call on him now while he is near.
7 Let the wicked change their ways and banish the very thought of doing wrong. Let them turn to the Lord that he may have mercy on them. Yes, turn to our God, for he will forgive generously.
8 “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.
9 For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.

I will close by asking you, which do you want in your life, evil, good, better, or best?
I think I know what the only reasonable answer is so what are you waiting? Remember what He says, "Come close to God, and God will come close to you." Then He says "Seek the Lord while you can find him. Call on him now while he is near."
The time for His return is near. He will never be closer to you than He is right now. Do what you know in your heart you need to do. Ask God to help you make the right decision so He can bless you fully.
May the living God of heaven bless you as you make the decision to do these things. In Jesus' name I pray.

Seeking God His Way

The book of Jeremiah states in chapter 29 verse 13 "And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart." God's word to His people in the days of Jeremiah is still a sure word for us today. For those of us who are struggling with life, sin, and all the things that come against us. No amount of money can supply for us what God can. His help is more valuable than gold. He is always available to those who would take time to search for Him. He is ever longing for man to look to Him and live. His arms are always open to us in such a loving way. An example would be of the prodigal or wasteful son. (Luke 15:11-32) When the boy left home and had spent all he had and was in the hog pen eating hog's food he finally came to himself and decided to seek the father. He would return home and ask his father to forgive him and maybe he would let him work so he could eat and have a place to lay his head. As he grew close to home the father looked and saw him coming a long way off. Then the bible tells us an amazing thing. The father began to run to meet the son to welcome him home. God represents the father. The story goes on to say that the father not only ran to see him but he threw a party to celebrate the son's return. He also restored him to where he was before he left. God is waiting for you to seek Him so He can be gracious to you and restore you. King David tells us how he feels about God in the hard times. In Paslm 63 David says "O God you are my God,early-earnestly- Iwill seek You; my soul thrists for You; my flesh longs for You in a dry and thristy land where there is no water." In verse 2 he goes on to say that he had seen God in the sanctuary, he had seen God's power and glory and he was longing for that once again out there in the desert where he was. Have you been away from God for a while? You may be going to church or even involved in it but your life is a mess spiritually. God invites you to change that today. One who becomes conscience of his needs as did the prodigal son, and he senses the satisfying gift of God, and sets out to find Him can be sure of victory if he seeks with his whole heart. Cleansing, peace, joy, and victory will be his at the hands of the loving Father God who delights to welcome you home. Matthew 11:28-30 "Come to Me all you who are heavy laden and I will give you rest."29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls, for My yoke is easy and My burden is light." Believe His words to you today. Seek Him with all your heart and you will find Him waiting eagerly to help you with whatever you are facing, no matter what it is. Nothing is to hard, to hopless or to big for God.

Rejoicing Every Day

Psalms 118:22-28 (NLT) 22 The stone that the builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.
23 This is the Lord’s doing, and it is wonderful to see.
24 This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.
25 Please, Lord, please save us. Please, Lord, please give us success.
26 Bless the one who comes in the name of the Lord. We bless you from the house of the Lord.
27 The Lord is God, shining upon us. Take the sacrifice and bind it with cords on the altar.
28 You are my God, and I will praise you! You are my God, and I will exalt you!

We know from scripture that "The Stone" was Jesus Christ. The Jewish religious leaders were the builders who rejected Jesus as the Messiah that God said would come. But He now has become the cornerstone of the church. Through His perfect life His, His sacrificial death and then His resurretion from the dead Jesus became the Savior and Lord of all those who believe. This was God's doing. He had planned it before He created the earth and it is a wonderful thing that God has done in our eyes. He has provided a way for us to be forgiven of our sins and to spend eternity with Him for ever.
This leads us to verse 25. Since all this is true we can look at today, no matter what is going on and we can see that God has made this day for us just as He made a way for our salvation. Because we know from these scriptures God made everything and because we now know that God's will shall prevail no matter what man does, we can rejoice in this day that we are now living and we can be glad in it. In verse 26 Because God has saved us and He has given us success we can say "blessed is the One who comes in the name of the Lord." We can go to God's house and bless Him there with all the other saints of God. In verse 27 The Lord is shining upon us because of these things that have been mentioned in these verses. We can offer a sacrifice to God. ("The sacrifices we are to offer to God in gratitude for redeeming love, are ourselves; not to be slain upon the altar, but living sacrifices, to be bound to the altar; spiritual sacrifices of prayer and praise, in which our hearts must be engaged".—Matthew Henry Concise)
So in verse 28 we should live in praise of each day saying You o God are my God and I will praise and rejoice in You. You are my God and I will exalt You in my eyes and in the eyes of others. If we would exalt God each day over every circumstance for the reasons listed in these verses we could actually be glad each and every day and rejoice in it no matter what would come our way. Then we could  as stated in Psalm 118 verse 29 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever.
I encourage you to take seriously this scripture and apply it to your life. Begin to read God's word and pray every day and watch your attitude and your life change for the good.
A word to those who might not know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and Lord. You can never have true joy until you are forgiven of your sins against God. Ask Jesus Christ to forgive your sins and ask Him to save you from the penalty of those sins and you will be remakably changed instantly if you are sincere in your request. You must be ready for a change in your life that leads to joy unspeakable and full of glory. Amen

Take Cover

Psalms 91:4 (NLT)
4 He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.

There will be times this year that we must have time to regroup from the things that will ultimately come our way. We will need a place to take cover from the things of this world. And we have that place beneath the wings of God. Wouldn't it be nice if the things of this life would have no power to hurt us? We find the ability to let things bounce off us and stick to God when we are protected by His faithful promises. His promises this verse says will become our armor. For God's promises to protect us we must know what they are. By reading God's word and meditating on it we become like rubber. Able to let things bounce off of us and stick to God as we cover ourselves with His wings. Being covered by His wings denotes a closeness to God that only time each day with Him can bring. We in this manner allow Him to cover us and shield us from the things that come our way.
Jesus said in John 17:15-17 (NLT)
15 I’m not asking you to take them out of the world, but to keep them safe from the evil one.
16 They do not belong to this world any more than I do.
17 Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth.

Notice that we are to remain in the world even though we are no longer of this world so Jesus prayed that Father God would keep us safe from the evil one.
Also notice that we are made holy by the word of God. As we under the guidance of the Holy Spirit read His word, the Holy Spirit teaches us what God's word means for living our lives correctly while here on this earth and our lives become holy to God.
God's word is the truth that we need to live the way God intends for us to do. We know from God's word that He wants the best for us and we find it as we stay in close communion with God through His written word.
So when the things of the world begin to get you down, take cover.
But you can not take cover if you don't know God through His Son Jesus Christ. You are constantly exposed to the devil and his evils schemes for you.. So ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins against God and invite Him into your life to take charge and He will if you mean business with Him. Read the scriptures at the bottom of this page and it will guide you as you ask Jesus to forgive your sins.  If you will do this then you will be able to take cover from the evil one and the things of this world.
We will come into contact with a lot of negative things this year but if we have God we don't have to let those things get us down. Remember when negative things come your way to "take cover."

A Prayer For You

I have a prayer for you as we enter this new year and it comes from the bible in
2 Thessalonians 3:5 (NLT) 5 May the Lord lead your hearts into a full understanding and expression of the love of God and the patient endurance that comes from Christ. This is a short and simple prayer for those whom you care for and I care for you and your spiritual relationship with God because if you have a close relationship with God and His Son Jesus Christ this year you will be successful in all you do. You will be an expression of God's love to others.
You will be like Psalms 1:3 (NLT) trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do. That's my prayer for you to prosper in all you do. To be like a tree that has deep roots into the soil of God's word causing you to bear fruit in every season and situation that you face this year. You will never be barren or lacking anything. Go back to the scripture that I started with and look at what it says. The world can distract us from the goal God has for each of us. Paul's prayer for the Thessalonians was that God lead their hearts into a full understanding and expression of God's love and then the patience endurance that comes from Christ. For you to be lead by the Lord God you must be seeking Him with all your heart and mind. When you fully understand God and His love for you, no one will have to twist your arm to live for God and to serve Him in some way. Not many Christians really understand God and that's because they never or seldom read His word. There is no other way to fully understand God than by spending time with Him every day in reading His word and praying to Him and then listening for His response to your request. When things don't go our way we will need the steadfastness that only Jesus Christ can give us. There are many times we will have to force ourselves to do the right thing, to stay on track with the things of God and to live a balanced life. That is what this website is designed to help us do. God is willing to bless us with more of His love, grace and mercy if we will not get side tracked this year and determine to let nothing keep us from our time with Him. There are many things and ways that people will try to be successful this year but if it doesn't include God then it is destined to fail. Only God can enrich us in the spiritual and physical realm. He said in
Matthew 6:33 (NLT) 33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
Isn't that simple! Just seek His kingdom above all else and live righteously and He will give you everything
you need. Do you believe this in your heart? Then if you truly do you will let nothing in this world keep you from giving God His rightful place in your life each day. If you do then all of God's blessings will flow your way. You will understand God's love for you and you will have a steadfastness you have ever had before as you face whatever God allows to come your way. I am excited about what God is going to do in your life and mine this year as we seek Him together over this website and as we seek His face together.

If you don't have a personal relationship with God the Father through His Son Jesus Christ then ask Jesus to forgive your sins against God and invite Him into your life to take charge of you and your affairs. If you will you will be on your way to the most successful and blessed year you have ever known. Go to a bible teaching church and tell the pastor you have been forgiven your sins against God and tell him you want to be baptized.

The Next Great Event In History

The greatest event in history was the birth of Jesus Christ. The next was His death on the cross as the payment (punishment) for our sins. Isaiah 53:4-5 (NLT)
It was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins!
5 But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed.

Now to the next great event in history that is about to happen.
It is found in 1 Thessalonians 4:14-18 (NLT)
14 For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the believers who have died.
15 We tell you this directly from the Lord: We who are still living when the Lord returns will not meet him ahead of those who have died.
16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the Christians who have died will rise from their graves.
17 Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever
.
18 So encourage each other with these words.

These scriptures tell us that Jesus is going to return with all those who have died as Christians up until the time of His return. Then at His commanding shout all the bodies of those who have died in Him will be resurrected and we who are alive at that time will be changed in the blink of an eye and then we will be caught up together with them in the clouds and so shall we be with the Lord forever.
At His coming victory over death will be realized. 1 Corinthians 15:26 (NLT) 26 And the last enemy to be destroyed is death.
1 Corinthians 15:54-58 (NLT) 54 Then, when our dying bodies have been transformed into bodies that will never die, this Scripture will be fulfilled: “Death is swallowed up in victory.
55 O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?”
56 For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power.
57 But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.
At this time our salvation will be complete. These things will happen soon. Are you ready for His return. It could be this year of 2011. When He returns will you be raised to everlasting life or will you be left behind to suffer the fate of those who have rejected Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord? You have a very important decision to make right now as the truth has been revealed to you. Ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins against a Holy God, then invite Him to live in your heart to take charge of your life and help you live for Him.

Christian hear the word of the Lord to you!
It is found in Romans 13:10-14 (NLT) 10 Love does no wrong to others, so love fulfills the requirements of God’s law.
11 This is all the more urgent, for you know how late it is; time is running out. Wake up, for our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.
12 The night is almost gone; the day of salvation will soon be here. So remove your dark deeds like dirty clothes, and put on the shining armor of right living.
13 Because we belong to the day, we must live decent lives for all to see. Don’t participate in the darkness of wild parties and drunkenness, or in sexual promiscuity and immoral living, or in quarreling and jealousy.
14 Instead, clothe yourself with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. And don’t let yourself think about ways to indulge your evil desires.
WE are all warned of God the coming of His Son to earth is soon so this year we must all live our lives with our eyes toward the heavens looking for His return.Christian serve the Lord with all your heart. Let Him have His rightful place in your life as you make your plans this year.

Don't leave Him out. Read His word, pray and seek Him like never before.
May this be a priority for us all this year.
