Seeking God His Way

The book of Jeremiah states in chapter 29 verse 13 "And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart." God's word to His people in the days of Jeremiah is still a sure word for us today. For those of us who are struggling with life, sin, and all the things that come against us. No amount of money can supply for us what God can. His help is more valuable than gold. He is always available to those who would take time to search for Him. He is ever longing for man to look to Him and live. His arms are always open to us in such a loving way. An example would be of the prodigal or wasteful son. (Luke 15:11-32) When the boy left home and had spent all he had and was in the hog pen eating hog's food he finally came to himself and decided to seek the father. He would return home and ask his father to forgive him and maybe he would let him work so he could eat and have a place to lay his head. As he grew close to home the father looked and saw him coming a long way off. Then the bible tells us an amazing thing. The father began to run to meet the son to welcome him home. God represents the father. The story goes on to say that the father not only ran to see him but he threw a party to celebrate the son's return. He also restored him to where he was before he left. God is waiting for you to seek Him so He can be gracious to you and restore you. King David tells us how he feels about God in the hard times. In Paslm 63 David says "O God you are my God,early-earnestly- Iwill seek You; my soul thrists for You; my flesh longs for You in a dry and thristy land where there is no water." In verse 2 he goes on to say that he had seen God in the sanctuary, he had seen God's power and glory and he was longing for that once again out there in the desert where he was. Have you been away from God for a while? You may be going to church or even involved in it but your life is a mess spiritually. God invites you to change that today. One who becomes conscience of his needs as did the prodigal son, and he senses the satisfying gift of God, and sets out to find Him can be sure of victory if he seeks with his whole heart. Cleansing, peace, joy, and victory will be his at the hands of the loving Father God who delights to welcome you home. Matthew 11:28-30 "Come to Me all you who are heavy laden and I will give you rest."29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls, for My yoke is easy and My burden is light." Believe His words to you today. Seek Him with all your heart and you will find Him waiting eagerly to help you with whatever you are facing, no matter what it is. Nothing is to hard, to hopless or to big for God.
