Good, Better, Best

God has given us a choice of having the best as we live our lives but He also allows us to choose evil, good, better, or best for our lives. The bible says in Deuteronomy 30:19 (NLT) 19 “Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live! God will not force His best on you. He allows you and I to make our own choices as to whether we follow His word and instructions or not. We alone are responsible for the choices we make and then we bear the consequences of our choices.
God has made known what He wants us to choose. So many people say they don't know what God's will is for them. It's very plain here what God wills for us. Lets look at it! Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live!
Now this is very plain isn't it? We choose life when we follow God's instruction book (called the bible). If you are not reading God's word daily you will never have the best for your life because you won't even know what God's best is for you.
Do you depend on others advise to guide you or to inspire you? If you do, that advise will surely fail you. Only God knows what is best for your life. After all He created you and He had a plan for your life when you were still in your mother's womb. So how could someone who doesn't know even a fraction of what God does give you advise for living that would never fail? That kind of thinking leads to destruction.
Do you remember when you had a real excitement for the word of God and His church? What happened along the way? The answer is that you have made some wrong choices instead of seeking God for the best that He wants you to have. But the good news is this message is for those who recognize their mistakes and wrong choices and want to do something about it.
God is ready always to forgive us when we turn to Him and ask for that forgiveness. May I ask you if you have ever even asked Jesus to forgive your sins against God and have you invited Him into your life as your personal Savior and Lord? If not, that's the first step to choosing the best for your life now and for an eternity.
You can ask Him right now to forgive and save you for His kingdom. Go to church and be baptized. Begin to worship God there and begin to draw near to Him and watch your life change.
As the scripture told us, God wants us to make the right choice but the ultimate decision is up to you. God says in His word in James 4:8 (NLT) 8 Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world. The New King James translation says it this way. James 4:8  Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Which is the easiest for you to understand?
No matter what translation you use we can understand the first step to the best from God is that we draw as close to Him as we possibly can. Then to get rid of the sin in our lives and quit being swayed this way and then that way. Indecision will ultimately destroy you. You must be rooted and grounded in your desire to do God's will for your life. It doesn't matter what someone else might say about it because God has already spoken and given us a choice to either choose His word about it or to reject. That is the way God always works. He never changes. The choice is always ours to make. If we are wise people we will make the choice to do what God says. Isaiah 55:6-8 (NKJV) 6 Seek the Lord while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near.
7 Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the Lord, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.
8 "For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways," says the Lord.

Isaiah 55:6-9 (NLT) 6 Seek the Lord while you can find him. Call on him now while he is near.
7 Let the wicked change their ways and banish the very thought of doing wrong. Let them turn to the Lord that he may have mercy on them. Yes, turn to our God, for he will forgive generously.
8 “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.
9 For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.

I will close by asking you, which do you want in your life, evil, good, better, or best?
I think I know what the only reasonable answer is so what are you waiting? Remember what He says, "Come close to God, and God will come close to you." Then He says "Seek the Lord while you can find him. Call on him now while he is near."
The time for His return is near. He will never be closer to you than He is right now. Do what you know in your heart you need to do. Ask God to help you make the right decision so He can bless you fully.
May the living God of heaven bless you as you make the decision to do these things. In Jesus' name I pray.
